About

A Software Development Technician typically works as part of a software development team.

 

They build software components for web, mobile and/or desktop applications which are used to form parts of larger software development projects.

 

They will interpret design requirements for discrete components of projects under supervision. The approach will typically include implementing code, which other team members have developed, to produce the required component.

 

The Software Development Technician will also be engaged in testing to ensure that components meet the functionality requirements

Course Overview

This apprenticeship a variety of subject such as:

​​

  • Apply procedures and controls to maintain security and control of an organisation.

  • Contribute to the production and development of security culture across an organisation including assisting with the promotion of cyber security awareness programmes.

  • Monitoring the effectiveness of cyber security awareness programmes.

  • Promoting an effective cyber security culture.

  • Process cyber security helpdesk requests ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital information.

  • Meeting relevant legal and regulatory requirements for example access control requests.

  • Conduct the installation and maintenance of technical security controls in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.

  • Monitor, identify, report, and escalate information security incidents and events in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.

  • Administer cryptographic and certificate management activities in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.

End Point Assessment

You will be assessed via :

 

Mock scenario demonstrations and interviews to ensure you are ready for the End Point Assessment and know precisely what to expect at all points in the process. The End Point Assessment itself includes:

​

  • Scenario Demonstration – This will be a series of 4 practical demonstrations, carried out in front of an End Point Assessor, in a simulated environment

  • Professional Discussion – A discussion about the contents of the learner’s portfolio

  • Knowledge Test – This encompasses multiple choice questions​​​​
