This course is designed to train individuals in the basic skills of pool rescue, first aid and CPR. It is important to note that this award is not a lifeguard qualification, instead it is intended to respond to a poolside emergency or to back up and support the lifeguard team during an emergency.

The competence of each learner is continually assessed by the trainer during the course.
Learners will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the topics covered through verbal question and answer sessions as well as practical demonstrations of first aid and pool rescue skills.
